Booking Through Thursday

1. Do you plan ahead for your reading? Work off of a to-be-read pile? A reading list? Or do you wing it, choose whatever you're in the mood for?
2. If you do plan ahead, how far ahead? Do you have two or three books waiting in queue? Or are you backed up by dozens of volumes waiting their turn?
3. If you do not plan ahead . . . well, never? What about if you're reading a series? Or someone gives you a book for a present?

I do sort of plan ahead. I have a list of all the books I would like to read. As a matter of fact, I moved them all to amazon.com and created a list of all the books I would like to read someday. That said, I don't have them in any special order. And when I pick out the next books to read, I sometimes pick from the list and other times just pick out books that catch my eyes. Since most of my books come from the library, I am usually limited by what they have available. If I really want a book and now I want it soon, I will request it and patiently wait for it to come in!

  1. Good questions. I have a mental list of books I want to read. Nothing on paper. I've homeschooled for umpteen years, so there have been books I've had to read ahead or with my kids, so they've been planned. I like a variety--something spiritually challenging, a classic, a homemaking book or parenting/marriage book. Currently I'm reading Don't Waste Your Life (by John Piper) and just started Pride & Prejudice.

  2. You have a very eclectic to-read list!

"Year of Wonders" was very intriguing, as was "The Time Traveler's Wife." I loved "The Witch of Blackbird Pond" when I read it in high school.

  3. Yes Jeanne! I do have a very eclectic to-read list. The thing is so many people give suggestions of great books, or books I should read, and I write them ALL down!!!
I like reading a good variety too, it keeps things fun! LOL!

Zoanna, I have to keep a written list - my brain can not remember one more thing LOL!
