Finally ....

So here what was brewing ...
a darling little tooth fairy pillow that I made. I think it turned out pretty cute (and yes, I am aware the little tooth/coin holder is a tad off, but I think it makes it even more cute!)

Sorry for the wait in showing it, but I personally believe it was worth the wait LOL!

Close-up
The poem says:
little fairy
as I sleep
take my tooth
the coin I'll keep

In progress

My newest knitting project in progress ... a nice blue blanket I think ... I'm not quite sure how it's going so far ....

Here's a bit of a close-up ... it is basically seed stitch, stockinette, repeated and ending with a seed stitch. There are 25 stitches in each section and there are 7 total. It's a fun and easy knit and I've managed to do lots of reading while knitting this blanket. However, it does seem like it is taking a long time to finish each row and each row doesn't do much to lengthen it. Oh well ... I'm not even sure I will finish it.

UFO 1

Here is what I picked for my UFO Resurrection Challenge for the month of March

Now, I originally made the whole thing last summer - sewed it up, stuffed it and left it there. Mostly because I hate hand sewing and the spot needed to be hand sewn together. So I waited and waited and waited. And saw it sitting in the garage of the new house and decided it need to be done. And so I present to you, a finished airplane:

It's really quite cute if I do say so myself. However, my little man is a little less than thrilled with it and hasn't picked it up to play with it since I've showed it to him.

Sorry ..

Sorry for leaving you hanging with the last post.
I have lost my camera. ::sigh:: Apparently the black hole at the old house decided to move along to the new house with us. This is very frustrating since we didn't pack it up, nor do we remember moving it with all the other belongings we brought over things we moved. And yet, well, it did manage to find itself over here. And the camera is one of the few things we can't find.
(Apparently all but two of the dozen pacifiers we have decided to visit the black hole as well as a few clothing items I have been looking for and all our nail clippers. Who knew just how much you could miss those little things!)

Here's hoping it turns up in the next 24 hours - I have a few things to show =)

In other news, I have been reading. Finished two books, and partly through 4 books right now.

Finished books are:
A Stitch in Time by Monica Ferris and Unraveled Sleeve by Monica Ferris. Yes, I am enjoying these books. There is something about reading about knitting, stitching, and trying to figure out who done it (two things I LOVE) that make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Not much of a review, I know, but there you have it. I believe that there are a few more in the series ... I will be checking at the library soon for some more. I also need to get on to my next TBR Challenge book too.

Currently reading:
Lucky by Alice Sebold
The Shop on Blossom Street by Debbie Macomber
The Bible (I'm on day 16 of reading the Bible in 90 Days program)
And a title I can't remember.

Anyway, that's all for now. As soon as I find my camera I will have pictures to share!

Baby sweater

It's finally finished ... the sweater that was supposed to be done for Christmas, but will now be a first birthday present.

Project Specs:
Baby Crossover Top from Debbie Bliss Easy Knits (with a few modifications)
Size 12-18 months
More than one Ball Bernat Softee Baby in blue
US 2 and US 3 needles
time: several months to complete
Gift for friend

Just when you thought

I might not ever have a finished project to show again, I have TWO to show you in one day!
Both were finished up tonight =)

A little knitting purse for my dd4 ... she likes to take an offering to church, but doesn't have pockets to stash it in. Lately she's been taking a bag that might look like a normal sized purse on me with 2 quarters and nothing else to Sunday school. This purse should be just right for her though =)

Finally!! A sort of glimpse of the inside ... I even lined it for her =)
It was a very quick project to knit up, it was the weaving it together that took the most time.
She doesn't know I made it so it will be a nice little surprise for her tomorrow. I love surprises!

Project Specs:
Double moss stitch repeated throughout with one purl row at two points where it is folded.
The yarn was leftover from another project just laying in a box
Time to complete: 1 week
Gift for my dd =)

Howdy folks ...

I know this is supposed to be a knitting blog, but lately it has not been one!
I am knitting, albeit slowly.
I am hoping by the weekend to have TWO finished projects to show you and to share what I have pulled out for the UFO challenge!
I'm getting there ... the house is getting in more and more order, although my craft room still needs a lot of work!

Please don't stop visiting though =) I'll be posting regularly soon!
